As we all know… Summer is here. The beaches and skate parks are full, Shops are rocking with new gear and we are excited to be part of the action. We have new designs, sunblock and we are stocking up on skate products. For now, we will have a number of items from smaller companies. We are doing our part to help the entrepreneurs of the world get their name out there. Just remember that every big company was once a small company. As owner of Hammerhead Surf & Skate co., I thank you for your support as we grow. In this bad economy, we must all do our part to turn things around. We are Getting Out There by being at events and handing out stickers and other products. We support some talented Surfers in Florida and Hawaii. The next time you are driving around, you just might see a Hammerhead sticker on someone’s ride!!!

I can’t believe it is already May. It seems that in Florida we went from 75 and nice out to 92 and very hot. We are full swing into the surf season. We plan on attending many events along the east coast. If you see us, Say Hi. If we see you wearing Hammerhead gear, we just might throw more at you! If you have stickers, put them where everyone can see them. The next time you are at a surf competition in Hawaii or Florida, you just might see one of our sponsored riders. Our Hawaii riders are Renesh Wainscoat, Tia Blanco, and Chris Bluthardt. Our Florida riders are Andrew Slaughter and Ariana Melendez. If you see them, Make sure you say hi and give them your support.

Hammerhead Surf and Skate Co. is growing at a steady pace. We have added the new “Fat Boy” shirt to our collection. The response has been great. We will see what adventures he gets into! In the coming months, we will create new designs for men and women. We will have a variety of colors too. Hammerhead gear has now been sent to France, Switzerland and many states around the U.S.. We have been in contact with many shop owners. They have expressed interest in carrying our line. They tell us that we are unique and like that we are not trying to “look like everyone else”. Our goal is to bring a unique look to the beaches and skate parks around the world. We are also pleased to announce our partnership with Doc Martin’s of Maui Sunblock. We are a distributor and will help to grow this brand on the mainland. Doc Martin’s is a very big success on the islands of Hawaii already, and used by many high profile athletes.
Doc Martin’s of Maui sunblock is a spf 30. It binds to your skin so there is no need for reapplication. It Will give you spf 20 protection after 6 hours in the water. There is no drip, no stinging the eyes – - What makes it a better product, is not having water in the ingredients. Mom’s have found it is great for kids, while providing all day protection without having to reapply like some of lower quality brands that are out there.

Hammerhead Surf
Last weekend, my family and I had the opportunity to watch a local skateboard competition. It was put on by the Compound Board Shop. They have locations in Sarasota and Brandon Florida. The co-owners Matt and Jacob were great with everyone. They made it a point to talk to all of the kids one on one and put on a positive event. One of the coolest things that day was the shirt “sling shot”. Compound and Hammerhead donated shirts. They were rolled up in a ball and shot about a 100 yards away. It was fun watching all of the kids go crazy for them. The Surf and skate community is such a positive atmosphere. The best thing that you can do is to encourage each other to try new tricks or let people know where you got your latest gear. I look forward in the near future to helping out the local surf and skate community. And when I say local….I mean the world. Please help us in supporting the two great sports that we love.
